The reformer is a sliding metal bed with springs and pullies, which adds exercise intensity by adjusting the spring resistance.

This is one of the first pieces of equipment designed by Joseph Pilates in the 1920s.

The Reformer can be used to introduce you to Pilates as a beginner, or allow you to take your matwork to the next level if you have been doing Pilates already.

It allows a wide range of exercises to be performed:

  • lying down,
  • sitting,
  • kneeling or
  • standing

and has beendesigned to move every major muscle and joint of the body to strengthen and sculpt.

The reformer provides a full body workout, improving core strength and body awareness while strengthening muscles - however it will help you achieve better posture and coordination than mat Pilates.

Great feedback from students who have noticed a return to flexibility they had lost over the years.
